Eating meat on Fridays?

Now in Lent I found out that we can't eat meat on Fridays and I don't want to sin, but I like meat and I wouldn't want to stop eating meat. And because of that I'm very anxious

I saw that there are people who consider it a mortal sin, others as something optional, or that we can replace meat with another food or addiction, or another penance. Anyway, I'm distressed
