Klonopin use during pregnancy

Question

Hi,

Is there anyone that took klonopin during pregnancy and baby turned out fine?

Im 26 weeks pregnant and as early as maybe 13 weeks I started taking unisom to help me stay asleep, started off a couple times a week but by 18 weeks I was taking it every night. Then I started getting muscle twitching and taking unisom made it worse and not better. So I’d be so tired from the unisom but every time I’d fall asleep I’d get a jerk somewhere in my body and it would prevent me from sleeping. I read muscle twitching was a side effect from unisom so I quit unisom. I have klonopin from before so I was taking klonopin as a band-aid to help me get some sleep and stop the muscle twitching. I probably took .5mg 3x the first week, 2x the second week, 1 time the third week, 0 the fourth week, and then 0-1 times week 5-8. So in total I’ve probably taken .5mg of klonopin 8 times already and I’m 26 weeks pregnant. I have spoken with my OB and maternal fetal medicine doctor who both agreed to take the klonopin as needed for the next 4 weeks in hopes of it fixing my problem. I will say the muscle twitching is almost completely gone. The issue is just having night time anxiety. There are a couple nights I wake up panicky, legs shaky, heart racing. I can’t go on Zoloft or Prozac because the side effects are muscle twitching so my doctors don’t recommend it for me. They recommended some other medication but there aren’t enough studies done on pregnant women so I’m hesitant. So I’m just wondering if anyone took klonopin and baby turned out fine. I’d also like to know how mom did during postpartum. I don’t know anyone who’s gone through this :(
