Robberies and thieves at home.what are your experiences recently, living in colombo.

Sorry to ask this. I live in deep fear due to childhood trauma of constant robberies we have experienced at home as a child. Im an adult now, after moving out of my childhood home I've lived in apartments and felt rather safe but a few months ago I moved to a house, although there's cctv, it's part annex, and the owner who lives abroad has a caretaker man who lives 24/7 in this house. This man definitely does something shady and we've caught him many times on cctv camera dealing, we don't want to escalate as we are in contract and can't afford to lose deposit and whether going to police would resolve this issue as I've bought it up with the owner and she dismissed it saying she knows he does things but he is a good man?? Either way he frequently makes excuses and tries to extort money from us saying he didnt grt his salary yet and we always say we paid the rent and he should receive his salary and we dont have money to spare and the neighbours too suspect him as we recently caught on cctv him fighting with a neighbour and with a rock. Anyway we always feel his desperation will lead to him robbing us when we are on holiday or not home. Im afraid due to pass trauma. But I just want to know of your experiences and if police had helped.
