Inherited LaserDiscs - What to do??

Hi everyone - I am cleaning out a late relative's house and they have a rather large collection of laserdiscs. I have never used this format and everyone here is telling me just to toss them all but I would much prefer to get them to people who still use the format. From what I can tell however the prices I could get for even the new sealed ones wouldn't justify packing them and mailing them - are there sites or stores that might buy them? I don't need to get a ton of money for them but if they are valueless that is good to know. From what I can tell on eBay they sell for about $6 each - is that right? Would love recommendations! I am in NYC FYI - not sure if that makes a difference.
