Kohler frequently dropping connectivity

We've had a Kohler generator with and RDC2 controller for more than a decade now. As other Kohler owners are probably aware, those controllers occasionally lose connectivity to the oncue cloud and the only way to get it back is to reset the controller either by reflashing the firmware or power cycling the unit including disconnecting the battery. Flashing the firmware (6.12.2) is usually easier/quicker but still annoying. Historically, that happened infrequently - maybe once a year or so. However, we've now had this happen 3 times in a month. Has anyone else experienced an increase in these events and have any ideas how to solve it?
