Finally got my quest cape! (Boss info)

Suggestion

After probably about 7-8 months combined I finally achieved the quest cape. This has been such a rewarding experience and so fun. For the most part I followed the optimal quest guide on the wiki and for anyone wanting to do all the quests, this is absolutely the best way to do it.

For anyone attempting the grind here are my take aways on the bosses and things that I found that helped me out. I didn’t have any troubles at all until my last like 5 quests, additionally I’m not good at PVM, my reaction times are slow, I can only play full screen so my mouse has alot of movement, and I get flustered when something doesn’t go right and it’s all over lol.

A night at the theater, just find a group to run your through it, you can litterally just sit there if you have an experienced team lol

Beneath cursed sands- I’m sure it’s possible otherwise, but I could not for the life of me kill the boss in the small room with a rune cross bow at 80 ranged, ended up getting a dragon cross bow with rune dragon bolts e and killed him first shot. The last boss you fight in this quest overwhelmed me multiple times sadly, my best strength gear and dirty carried me through, I should have been that hard for me lol.

Final dawn, watch guides, was easy except for the jaguars until you get the flow down then it’s cake.

Secrets of the north, my melee stats are better, everyone said to range her, I tried ranging and for some reason the movement and timing felt very difficult for me. Ended up using melee and got her in a few tries with minimal effort, my biggest challenge was her final phase, I never figured out the timing to melee her, I just tanked the hits and did what I could and it worked. But there’s a way to delay her attack and give you time for a safe hit. Figure that out and you’re golden.

While Guthix sleeps, final boss, use the safe spot and don’t worry about melee at all, every time I tried adding in melee my timing would get messed up am I would get smacked hard. Just make and range from the safe spot, and protect from his hits, he changes attack styles pretty quickly to get back to range or mage DPS. After him I couldn’t figure out the last 2 guys, I just attacked with range and protected against what I though (I couldent tell which style they were attacking with) killed them quickly, alternatively, just let the NPCs kill them but it take a little bit.

Sins of the Father, this guy was a dick. Best advice is darts for his spawn. For his darkness attack, hit him, step back look away, wait for him to attack then hit him again and repeat cake walk. For his final phase before it starts, pot up and eat to full do your best to dodge the lightning and you’ll get it first try, don’t get to a point where you have to focus on eating, tank the best you can.

Song of the elves, don’t let the hype of everyone online get to you. This boss is almost 100% a DPS check. Grab a trident, best mage gear, and a full inventory of brews and restores. At a lower mage level (77) it was the only possible way to do it. Watch a guide on YouTube to learn attacks and maintain high health the whole fight because you have little time to eat prior to her last special if you’re too low.

Dragon Slayer 2, there’s no special advice other than eat a YouTube video on vorkath (I ranged it) took 2 tries, the final boss isn’t bad, after watching a video give it a few shots and you’ll get it.

Desert Treasure 2, fuck this whole entire quest… I’ve never had something make me question my devotion for something so much in my life… Vardorvis, stand between the pillars, try to avoid axes but you can tank them if you need to. Not horrible, just need to get used to prayer switches, took about 7 tries. Kasonde after vard I feel was more difficult honestly, I ranged him, took me about 15 tries, it’s way too easy to mess up. Duke, honestly a cake walk, follow a guide, and it’s easy to get hit getting the potion ingredients that does insane damage, just be careful. Leviathan, just takes either fantastic RNG or practice. Make sure you get the rune markers tile markers in there and when the lighting special comes, run in a circle AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO HIM! Idk why this took me so long to figure out, but if your further out then the tiles next to him going in a circle his lightning catches up to you and you can’t outrun it. Smoke spell him sooner than later and deal with the specials, it’s very hard to recover from the hits if it’s going too fast for you. Whisperer, I would never attempt this again at my mage level (77) I would get mage as high as possible, this entire fight relies on how quickly you can damage her and prayer switches. Turn the sound on, and watch hitsplats to react with prayers. I found it easiest to not use any mage boosting prayers, I struggled too much with the prayer switches and eating and potting all at once. For her enraged phase, remember she always starts with range, just run in circles constantly, only attack her after you switch prayers, doing it sooner is too easy to mess the timing up and get DPSed. She took me about 50-60 tries over 3 days, probably 5 hours lol, she’s no joke, but make your main focus on switching prayers and you’ll get it. The final boss gauntlet wasn’t too bad, watch the Fox guide on YouTube and melee them all but the last, trying to DPS with range is far too difficult in my opinion. I made it to the final boss with full inventory of food left, if your low on food think about leavening and retrying, idk why but she does so much damage on you no matter what you do.

That’s it, I hope anyone having issues finds this and can learn something and for anyone interested in the grind, it’s totally worth it and if I can do it, anyone can. I’m so bad at PVM that I died at scurrious st like 100 combat level lol. Let me know if anyone has questions.

Also, on a side note a couple things that will complete fuck you are auto retaliate, turn it off, keep it off and never turn it on during a quest. The other things are mournings end part 2 and underground pass. Fuck those quests.
