Question for people who are familiar with medieval sword fighting.

When Dunk and Aerion are fighting I think it's clear that Dunk is using brute strength to make up for a lack of technique. Can anyone who has experience or knowledge about that sort of fighting comment?

Is it clear that Aerion is the superior fighter and Dunk is just relentless which wears him down? Or is that fight just staged for drama? Aerion should be a much better fighter, in general, because presumably he's been trained by the best of the best his entire life.
