DIY Pantry Shelves and Toggle Bolts

Hi all!

Currently I am redoing my pantry and have decided to DIY my own pantry shelves out of 2x3s for framing with 1x6s on top. I will wood stain and seal. These will be framed out along three walls.

That being said for framing, studs are in the weirdest spots. Along the back wall, it is 47” wide. There is a stud in each corner, but running left to right, there is a stud at approximately 13” and 28”, but that’s it.

On each side, I won’t be able to use any studs as shelves are 11” deep and the next closest stud on the one side wall is at about 15” from the corner. The other side wall doesn’t have any until 24”.

That being said, I am planning on using toggle bolts on the side walls. I got the snap toggle ones from Home Depot. Now the side framing pieces are only 8” long. Should I be using only one toggle bolt per side or two? Not sure how much is needed considering the short distance.

Thanks!
