Ex (27F) is using social media to indirectly criticize me (29M) unsure how to handle it
I’m 29M and my ex is 27F. We were together for a little over 4 years.
We broke up a few months ago. It wasn’t dramatic, at least from my point of view. We talked, agreed things weren’t working, and went our separate ways. I thought it ended on fairly normal terms. About a month later, friends started sending me her Instagram reels with messages like “hey… this is kinda about you, right?” I watched a few and yeah, no names, but it’s obvious. She talks about her ex being cheap, emotionally distant, not serious about life. Then at one point she mentions how I used to sit on my phone reading 1win reviews, like that alone should’ve been some huge warning sign. That’s when it really clicked that I was the subject. I checked her profile and realized she has an actual Highlight called “breakup,” with multiple saved stories basically telling the same story. It feels like a little ongoing series about how bad her ex was. I’m conflicted. Part of me wants to tell her to stop, but I also feel like if I text her, it’ll just turn into another screenshot with a caption like “this is exactly what I mean.”
My question:
Is it better to address this directly and set a boundary, or is ignoring it the smarter move long-term?
TL;DR:
My ex is posting indirect but very obvious Instagram content about me after our breakup. Not sure if I should confront her or just ignore it.
