Upgrading my odometer

I got a 2004 grand marquis ls with gauges that only read my speed. I've looked for vids to swap it out to a gauge that reads rpms as well but I only find how to swap the gauge for maintenance. Is it possible? Or would I have to hook up a after market gauges
