What would have happened if Emma hadn't left in season 3?
This is more or less what would have happened according to what I found online:
If Emma hadn't left in season 3 of H2O, the group dynamic would have changed a lot 🌊❄️
In the original series, Emma (Claire Holt) disappears completely in the third season and her place is taken by Bella Hartley. But if Emma had stayed, things would have been very different.
❄️ 1. The original trio would have stayed together
The classic team:
- Emma Gilbert (ice)
- Cleo Sertori (water)
- Rikki Chadwick (heat/lightning)
would have had a much more natural evolution. Emma was always the most responsible and organized, so she would have played a key role in facing the new threats of season 3.
🌑 2. The comet plot would have been different
In the third season, the whole comet storyline and the new magical forces appear.
With Emma there:
-
She would have been the first to investigate what was happening.
-
She probably would have taken the lead during the most tense moments.
-
And she surely would have prevented more than one of Rikki's dangerous impulses.
Her logical way of thinking would have given a more strategic touch to the whole season.
💙 3. And Bella?
If Emma hadn't left:
-
It's very likely that Bella wouldn't have existed.
-
Or, if they had included her anyway, she would have been the fourth mermaid, which would have completely changed the story.
And if there had been four, the finale against the comet threat would have been even more epic.
❤️ 4. The relationship with Ash would have continued
Emma had a relationship with Ash Dove in season 2. If she had continued:
-
We would have seen more development between them.
-
It wouldn't be surprising if Ash ended up discovering the secret.
-
She could even have been an important support in the final stretch.
⚡ 5. The dynamic with Will would be a different story
In season 3, Will Benjamin has a huge role alongside Cleo and Bella.
With Emma present:
-
She would have been more cautious with him.
-
She wouldn't have allowed an outsider to get that close to Mako.
-
Tension within the group would have increased.
