How can I get my foot in the door of becoming a garage door technician?

I apologize if this question is asked frequently.

I really want to be a garage door technician, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. The problem is I don’t have any hands on experience and their isn’t any course to teach me how to become one, I saw one online, but after looking more into it people said it isn’t worth taking and to just apply. When I go apply nobody is willing to interview me. I don’t have any hands on experience, but I’m willing to learn and start at an entry level if given the opportunity. I don’t have experience in any construction related work, I haven’t actually worked with power tools before, but I’ve used tools to do DIY projects for my car. I’ve fixed spark plugs, fuel injectors, stereo, and sensors. I know that isn’t related to garage door work but I’m just trying to say I’ve worked with basic tools. Ive done some research in this field and what’s expected. I understand safety is a big priority. I understand it’s important when working with any electrical units you shut the beaker off, and I especially am aware of how dangerous the springs are, I know you start with disconnecting power source, carefully release tensioner from springs, remove panels starting from top, remove tracks, rollers and springs.

Forgive my rambling at the end, I know I probably wrote too much, I might take the online course because it’s my only desperate attempt to put something on my resume and get my foot in the door. Do you have any advice or suggestions? Thank you.
