Why would a guy view stories but not respond to the text?

I know this is very situational and depends on the person but for context, you’ve been speaking with a girl for a month. She asks questions to get to know you, responds adequately, you flirt with her sometimes and she gives you the same energy back, etc.

If everything is going somewhat smoothly, why leave her on delivered for long periods of time but still view her story?
