How to help my senior declawed cat feel included?
So my fiance and I have three cats (and a fourth stray being transitioned into an inside cat). Keek (12) was my first cat. I got him when I was in fifth grade and my abusive step dad had him declawed. Bucket (2), my fiancés cat, was originally a mouser so she’s very skilled with her claws. Fish(1), our first cat together, was of course not declawed and is not skilled like Bucket with his claws. However, my fiance and I have been making our home very cat centered. We’re putting up a carpet wall and cat shelves for them. As well, we’re building a catio. However my older cat can’t exactly keep up with them. He can’t climb, he can’t play fight with them (without an extreme disadvantage), and he’s just plain old so he can’t run as fast or jump as far etc. Are there any recommended ways to make our cat walls and catio more accessible for him? Are there any toys or activities that y’all recommend that would make the space more inclusive for him?
