WIBTAH for dating purely for emotional connection?

This is the first time I’ve ever posted to Reddit besides writing comments, so if this is the wrong place to post this, please suggest a better place to go.

I’m an adult currently living with my parents as affordable housing is hard to come by in my area. The only real issue regarding that is the fact that my parents and I share very different views on life (with religious context, so neither side will be budging). I respect their beliefs and they respect that I can be my own person and make my own choices, but often times when I do it leads to a lot of tension in the household. That’s includes when I want to go out and meet friends who don’t share the same religious views as them. If I ever mentioned I’m going on a date I have no clue how’d they react.

That’s what leads to my question: would it be an AH move to join dating apps knowing that I am not in the place to “date” beyond talking online?
