How does arranged marriage work if you're an NRI?

M 30 here. I want to get married sometime in my 30s and I'm not opposed to an arranged marriage.

The AMs I see these days aren't the kind in the olden days where you'd be forced to marry someone anyway - you still get time to talk and get to know the person before we decide to move forward with the proposal which doesn't make me judge it as much.

My question is one of logistics: How would I get to know a girl if I live abroad? Neither of us can keep flying overseas to meet the other person. I don't really think you can get to know someone over video call especially during the early stages.

Have any of you done an AM while living abroad? Please share your experience.
