Hi, my name is Mark, your next Hamilton County Mayor.

When I made the decision to run for office, I held fast to this basic belief–that public office is public service.

It’s not about slogans or politics – it’s about listening to our neighbors, meeting people where they are and creating solutions that work for everyone.

I get it. It’s easy to lose faith in democracy when it feels like it’s not working for you. I want to rekindle the notion that a ballot cast is a voice heard. And right now, we need a chorus.

My name is Mark Herndon, and I want to earn your vote for Hamilton County Mayor. My boots have been in the dirt of this county for decades, so I know that home is equal parts work and care. My family lives on a slice of this Tennessee heaven, and I want to give back to this place by serving my neighbors.

The road ahead won’t be – and never has been – easy.

Last year, my wife and I lost our son, Silas, to suicide. From unimaginable loss to a sense of purpose, we’ve navigated dark and bright days. My boy lost hope in something – a hope I will spend the rest of my life chasing and instilling into my community.

I can’t spend another second on the sidelines, and I’ll be candid—we can’t afford to lose. Our wallets and our values are at stake. We can’t afford delays, indifference or the idea that someone else will make a change.

We are the ones we are waiting for. Will you join me?
