Polycythemia Vera or Sleep apnea?

Male, age 57, 210lbs at 5'11"

Yearly blood work cam back with my RBC 6.76, hemoglobin 20.3, hematocrit 60.02, & RDW at 16. My sleep study came back with severe sleep apnea but they are talking PV. Why?
