human > rat strep?

hi guys! need a little advice on what to do here!

ok so: i'm putting my very old rat down tomorrow. my mom, who loves him so so so much currently has strep throat, she hasn't been able to see him in a long time (due to health issues) and really wants to see him before he goes to sleep, but we're worried that he might catch her strep and then transfer it to the healthy rats i have when he goes back to the cage. he has a sickly weak immune system brother, so we're a little worried about him possibly getting any illness.

i'm could it might be best for her to see him tomorrow, before i take him in because if he catches it it won't really matter lol😭😭😭 but we'd prefer for him to see her today for timing reasons.

does anyone have any experience on how/if rats can catch strep from humans? looked it up and saw various and differing opinions on if it's possible or not. thanks!
