Interesting Reads: Gizelle, Ashley, Double-Standards

I just read someone’s take on not liking how Gizelle’s age or body are talked about. A few years ago, I read discussions around not liking how often it’s mentioned that Gizelle “doesn’t have a man”.

Valid points as it’s layered.

But, I always immediately think about how they are either responses to, for example, when Gizelle goes after someone’s marriage and someone mentions how she wouldn’t understand because she doesn’t have a healthy one.

Or, when I just read the comment about mentioning Gizelle’s age or body, I thought about how she tried to humiliate Angel with the catfish comment.

Or, another recent take about Ashley and her accomplishments of rising out of poverty yet her mocking someone for possibly getting evicted.

It’s just…fascinating to me. It’s plain and clear the double-standards, but it’s always interesting to read.
