Crankshaft and Camshaft damage

2021 Kona, 2.0L currently just tad over 28,000 miles. 2nd owner, as of Nov 2022, drives approximately 510 miles/month, 6200 miles per year. From when the vehicle was first sold 5yr 3 mo, the oil was change approx every 10/11 months. It is unknown how low the oil was at the point of replacing oil at any of the 5 oil changes over past 5 years. At the time of the last 4 oil changes, no mention was made of the oil being severely low, or perilously low or “will cause damage to engine low”.

Car just died, code P001700 crankshaft and camshaft position correlation identified. Would the infrequent oil changes be fully responsible for this engine damage? Thank you.
