If you want an easy mode for Rayman 1, I think the DSiWare version is a better experience than using the 30th Anniversary enhancements
The DSiWare version of Rayman made many changes to the game itself to significantly reduce the difficulty. More checkpoints are placed in each level, you get 5 HP by default and 10 HP with a powerup, you earn a life at 50 tings rather than 100, you don't lose Tings on death, platforms move slower, the magician's bonus rounds have much more forgiving time limits, and there are some level design tweaks to make the game just overall easier. And the bottom screen of the DS gives a nice zoomed out view of the terrain for you to spot hidden paths easier.
Playing with the enhancements in 30th Anniversary doesn't really fix the rough edges of the original game's difficulty, it kind of just lets you bruteforce your way through it. And the ability to rewind completely kills the integrity of the obstacles entirely, to the point of erasing the satisfaction of getting through the levels.
The biggest drawback to the DSiWare version is that not all the music is included, though that's excusable since DSi downloads had very tight filesize limitations. Enough of the important tracks are here so that it still feels like Rayman.
The only problem with the DSiWare version is that the DSi and 3DS eShops are long gone.
... Wouldn't it have been nice to have the DSiWare version in 30th Anniversary? I feel like it was a significantly more substantially-different alternate version than the GBA one was. I feel like having a nice "easy mode" version of the game in the collection would be valuable for preservation too.
