When would you bring up getting tested while dating?

It seems like a lot of my (M21) friends wait to they’re wanting to quit condoms and then go get tested but otherwise just use condoms without test and was wondering when would you bring up getting tested while dating?

Also if they’re necessarily a bad way to bring it up? I’m inexperienced
