Spectrum Mobile: Trade in Question

If you make a trade in at the store (where they inspect it and immediately take it off your purchase of a new phone), is the value you receive “locked-in”?

I understand values can change when you are mailing in a device, but was just wondering if they can change the amount later if trade in was done in store.
