Card Themes or Ideas

Hey all, I will be upfront and admit I’m not super into PTCG. My partner and I however are big Pokemon fans, and I planned a date around going to make each other a TCG team. The idea revolves around hitting some stores and each of us picking 6 cards for each other to make a Pokemon Team, but with some rules.

For example, one card has to be of a starter or their evolution. One has to have our favorite Pokemon. Another has to feature a Pokemon of our favorite type. I’m looking for more ideas beyond those obvious ones. Are there certain themes that pop up a lot that could have a lot of options (ie one card has to have food in it or one card has to have a pokemons sleeping)?

Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions!
