I hope this is a dumb question and not a design flaw

I have a '26 calligraphy hybrid, when someone closes the front doors even slightly hard (well short of slamming) it folds in the sideview mirrors in enough that I can no longer adjust the angle appropriately without getting out and pushing it back into place. Is there a reason the mirrors are so loose? Can I tighten them or ani unaware of some way to move them electronically (as far as I can tell they're entirely manual right)?
