Charging Strategy
I'm in the middle of a road trip of about 1600 miles round trip. I've been thinking about charging strategy. I'm only using Tesla L3 chargers which are right off the interstate. Im considering strategies and trying to decide what ultimately is best.
Strategy 1-When I charge, charge until the charge rate drops by a specific %, even as long as I charge enough to reach the next station. This gets me the fastest overall charging rate, but will mean more stops.
Strategy 2-When I charge, charge to 80%, then stop. No need to worry about congestion charges. Average charge rate less than scenario 1, but with fewer stops than scenario 1.
Strategy 3-When I charge, charge until the charge rate drastically reduces or Tesla starts congestion fees start, or the charger stops. Slowest charging rate, might eliminate a stop or make the last stop much shorter.
I'm sure someone will say, stop overthinking and drive, and I get that.
Thoughts?
