Was this a strange rheum appt?

Treatment/Tips

I had an appointment today. Was on Humira for six months after being diagnosed as “probable spondyloarthropy” this summer. Was told that it’s ankylosing spondylitis (I’m HLA-B27+ and have a lot of textbook symptoms) or a psoriatic arthritis (I have psoriasis). Had a small response - more movement L to R in my neck (but my neck still kills) and I am just able to wake up to an alarm better/a bit less tired (was oversleeping all the time and not waking up) but still dealing with bad fatigue. So the next step is to try Cosentyx as was talked about in October. So, I had my appointment and they said we would wait three months, see how I feel and if I want to try Cosentyx, I can call them in May.

Maybe that’s normal protocol. I don’t know. This is new to me. Just felt like the “if I want to try this” comment was weird (and maybe it isn’t because it is my body). And the waiting to see how I feel in three months - I didn’t understand. Wasn’t sure if that was to see if Humira had helped? I probably should have had that clarified but it was a very fast appointment. I didn’t say most of what I wanted to.

Does anyone wait in between meds as a standard thing? I guess my fear is feeling like I’m “not believed” or something or worried I was being blown off (I’m sensitive).
