Ultron (Marvel) won 1969

The rules

1) The character with the most upvotes after 24 hours wins. I will try to post a follow up around the same time.

2) Only the character's first appearance counts (I.e Superman can only win 1938, Darth Vader can only win 1977,...). Any adaptation can count under the original character.

3) I am willing to make exceptions to these rules for characters released before the time years on this list (for example Marvel Thor) and characters that Although they share a name are radically differen (for example Castlevania or Hellsing Allucard) Although those will be up to a case by case basis. (Suggestions for a better system are welcome)
