Hazbin Hotel made me an ally
when i was younger, i used to be homo/transphobic, due to religion and stuff (which is really stupid, since my religion tells me to respect everyone and be kind), i never really attacked anyone tho, since i live in a place where everyone (mostly everyone) has the same religion as mine, and the most i did online was just click off a video or comment "gay allert!!!" (yes, i actually did that, i feel so cringe thinking about it).
when i first heard about HH, i liked the show even tho it has a whole different message than my religion, and i just went "i don't even believe in this, this is just fiction and doesn't show my relationship with my own religion", i didn't care that much about the LGBTQ+ stuff in it, in fact, i just took it as a joke (like "haha show with gay demons"). i simply ignored Charlie and Vaggie dating, and any other LGBTQ+ stuff.
but then came Husk and Angel Dust, i found them cute with eachother, but i tried to deny it, i wouldn't support a gay ship since it's forbidden in my religion. so basically i had so many conflicting thoughts, before i just finally settled on the fact that like... gays arent that bad, sure, it's bad in my religion, but everyone has their own beliefs and way of living. i started learning more about the LGBTQ+ community, and i really liked being supportive towards everyone no matter the sexuality, and i eventually found out i was AroAce!
i'm still religious as i love my religion :] ik that no one rlly cares about this, but i just wanted to share my experience with this show that helped me be more open minded :3
