Leica M4 wondering what it may be worth.

Going through some old boxes and see that I have an old Leica my grandfather used to use after he retired. Seems to me (not a photographer or enthusiast) the camera and lens are in pretty great shape but the case leather is cracked. Thinking of taking it over to the Leica (I'm in Los Angeles and see there is one on Beverly) store to see if they do appraisals. I've seen wildly variant prices online and even in this sub. Anyone have any ideas if this is something I should keep hold of or look for a loving home for? Is the Leica store a good place to start? Any thoughts appreciated.
