I cant bear the stigma.
Hey all, Im writing this as a means of comfort.
Had a high risk encounter with possibly someone carrying hiv. I don’t know his status. It was brief and because of their action. Even though I brought condoms.
I went 20 hours later to the emergency hospital for potential pep and some assessment.
Yet Im stunned and feel terrified.
The doctor made me feel outlandish, for having tested negative in the past after high risk exposures. Gave me prep, but insisted on tracing the last hookup I cut ties with. I feel terrible as Im some kind of biohazard. But the truth is, I have plans for my life.
Ive bought army equipment and am counting down the days by hand.
In the army assessment, if I mention anything about pep or hiv. They’ll return me home.
Honestly, best to give up the meds, it was a brief contact.
Now, this feels like a witch’s hunt. Getting my exes tested is required too.
Have you encountered anything similar? Sending strength🤍
