Travelling to Peru is not for everyone

Just got back from Peru with friends who are used to calm-pace traveling. They can chill at a resort or stay in a nice condo with nearby amenities somewhere in Europe, but Peru is not about that.

Peru is intense. There's so much to see and it's spread out across different regions with completely different climates and altitudes. You're constantly moving between cities, dealing with altitude changes, taking long bus or train rides, and adjusting to new environments every few days.

The activities themselves are demanding too. Lots of trekking, hiking at high altitude, early morning starts for tours, dealing with basic facilities in some areas. Even just getting to Machu Picchu involves multiple forms of transportation and requires energy, planning and flexibility.

My friends who prefer relaxed European vacations where they can spend a week in one beautiful place, take leisurely walks, enjoy nice meals, and just decompress were completely exhausted by Peru. They felt like they were constantly on the move, never fully resting, and dealing with too much logistical stress.

Peru is incredible if you want adventure, diverse landscapes, ancient ruins, and don't mind some discomfort along the way. But if your idea of a good vacation is unwinding and taking it easy, Peru might leave you feeling more tired than when you started.

Just something to consider if you're planning a trip there with people who prefer low-key travel. Know what you're signing up for.
