Building a QR loyalty system for small cafés

I’m building a simple QR-based loyalty system for small cafés and would love your feedback.

How it works:
Customers scan a QR code and collect digital stamps.
No app download. No physical cards.

Why it beats paper or wallet cards:
• Nothing to carry or lose
• No staff scanning
• Protection against duplicate/invalid attempts
• Faster during rush hours

Setup: Under 5 minutes. No special equipment- just your existing counter tablet.

I’d love your thoughts:
• Do you already use an internet-connected tablet at the counter?

• Pricing: The idea is that you’d pay a small bonus only when a customer completes a 10-stamp card, so you’re paying based on real repeat visits, not a flat monthly fee. Would that feel fair, or would you rather have a simple monthly price?

• Would you want full control of customer data - or prefer I manage it?

• Would gamification (like a small lottery reward) increase engagement or feel gimmicky?
