Should I give up ?

I (26 m) talked to my aunt in the beginning of December, she told me that one of our mutual friend Mariana (31f) asked about me and talked about me with my aunt. Mariana said that she has a cousin (Sara 24yo) who is exactly like me and that we are going to be a match (she is like me religious (catholic), likes nature, wants a big family and so on), I said to my aunt why not we can meet each other. Mariana said that Sara never had a boyfriend and that she is really selective. We don’t live in the same state, but I’m going 4-5 times a year in Denver (where my aunt, Mariana and Sara live).

So I met Sara at the end on December, the date was amazing, I never connected so much with someone, I found that she had a good character and personality and I found her beautiful. On the date she spoke 80% of the time, she was really open, she seemed really interested, she talked during the date about our next date and she said to me to call her so we can go hiking.

After the date I went skiing and went back after almost two weeks, I immediately wrote to her to see her, she said she was in her hometown (2 hours by car) with her family, I wrote to her that I can go to her hometown to see her (because I had 4 days left before returning to California) she said she is busy with family she wouldn’t have time to dedicate to me. Two days after she comes back and I called her but she declined saying she has a dinner at work. In the meantime I saw Mariana, I was at my aunts house, Mariana was really happy, she said that Sara said that I’m good looking and funny, Mariana said to me (jokingly) to write to Sara 5x times a day to show her that I like her, Mariana said that she hopes that me and Sara marry together and have children, I was really happy hearing that from Mariana. After that I wrote to Sara and proposed to see her on Monday but she said that she couldn’t because of work, then she said to me to have a good flight and to call her when I was back in the State (Denver).

It was around the 10 January when I came back to Cali, after that I wrote to her every 3-5 days, by text, I was funny, entertaining and I often asked how she was, she responded to my texts (but takes some time to respond) but never texted first, she asked questions back. At the end of January I said to her that I’m in Denver 12-15 February and asked her if she is there then, she responded three days later that she is free on February 14, I responded : cool, I’ll write to you when I’m there. I send her on 8 February : Hope that your week is good, see you soon. She responded normally. Then 13 February I asked her if we can meet up at 8pm tomorrow and she responded : Hey I wanted to write to you, I can’t be there tomorrow I have an unexpected situation with my family, I responded : Oh, okay, I really wanted to see you, maybe next time. She responded : There will be an other opportunity, I hope!

I really don’t understand anything, is she interested or not, why does she flake ? is she uninterested or nervous and and sabotage herself (since she is unexperienced) ? Please help, and what should I do next ? (I came back to Cali and I didn’t write to her in the last 5 days since her last text and she didn’t write also after her last text)
