Are there communities where travelers can connect with locals to hang out and explore together?

Hi! I’m curious if you know of any websites or communities where people can connect with locals in other countries who would be happy to show them around, not as a guide, but more as a friend. I’m thinking of things like going to eat together, visiting museums, or just exploring the city with someone who knows it well. I’ve tried Facebook groups, but people who reached had other motives.

I’d also be interested in showing people around my own city! I find it’s more exciting and comfortable to explore with someone familiar with the area and who might share some interests.
