Considering a stoma bag, please help.

28 year old female with Perianal and small bowel Crohn’s disease.

First abscess appeared March 2025, emergency surgery, sepsis, seton placed. Complex fistula through all muscles.

4 weeks later fistula branched, fistulotomy performed.

Healing was shit, leaked through all my clothes in public, pain was bad.

Surgery in June, infected & inflamed fistula.

August I started yuflyma (humira) biologic for Crohn’s disease.

December 2025, seton changed due to reoccurring pocket abscesses. Severe haemorrhoids, fissures, the whole lot.

Now it’s February, I’ve been admitted into hospital for 4 days so far on IV steroids, I’m on drinking liquid for diarrhoea control, something to do with bile malabsorption.

Severe perianal pain constantly, going to toilet 10+ times a day. Cannot work, cannot sit, leaking, I stink, blood clots dangling from my fissures every time I go, iron infusions every 6 months. I’m sick, I’m fatigued.

Biologic is failing, I’m getting put onto remicade. Home steroids failed.

I can’t keep doing this. I’m sobbing in the hospital bed, they aren’t giving me anything other than codeine which isn’t even cutting it.

None of the nurses even know what a seton is, they don’t understand perianal pain. I can’t close my legs. I get rashes. The gauzes pressed up against me hurt. I can’t live a life.

I’m so desperate for relief and I’m wanting a bag.

Even the IV steroids haven’t stopped the pain or diarrhoea.

Has anyone else gone through this with Crohn’s?
