How to create a 3D effect in blender

Hello, I am a blender beginner (2 weeks worth of experience) and I want to create this sort of image in an x ray style. I tried following this tutorial but I was having a hard time getting the same results as the creator. (my paper bag model had blurred borders, I tried to change the thickness and density but that did not work.

Any sort of guidance would be amazing.
