UGREEN NASync DH4300 Plus review

Been using/reading up on the UGREEN NASync DH4300 Plus and it’s basically a “normal-person NAS” that still checks a lot of enthusiast boxes for the price. Hardware is straightforward: 4 bays, an ARM 8-core Rockchip platform, 8GB LPDDR4X (non-upgradable), one 2.5GbE port, and 4K HDMI out. The chassis is compact and minimalist, with a tool-less-ish drive install vibe (more appliance than rack gear).

Performance is what you’d expect from a single 2.5GbE link: fast enough for backups, Plex/Jellyfin-style home media, photo libraries, and general file serving. Where it’s clearly “value” is expansion and power-user features: reviewers call out no M.2 SSD slots, no dual LAN, and RAM capped at 8GB, so don’t buy it expecting heavy virtualization or lots of concurrent services. UGOS Pro is usable and getting better, but it’s not Synology DSM-level polished or deep yet.

Compared to high-end Synology/QNAP 4-bays, you’re trading ecosystem maturity, upgrades, and pro networking for a lower buy-in and “it just works” basics.
