Thoughts on Figuring out my SAAS GTM
Building KLATE has taught me that the product is the easy part.
Distribution in creative industries is a completely different game.
Quick context: I run a music management company. Over a billion streams, $3M+ in deals negotiated. We built KLATE to solve a problem I see every day: producers signing contracts that destroy their careers.
The tool works. It catches predatory clauses in seconds. Beta users love it.
But getting it in front of 30 million independent creators? That's the hard part.
Here's what doesn't work:
Paid ads. "Analyze your contract!" Nobody searches for that until it's too late.
Traditional SaaS playbooks. Creators don't wake up thinking "I need contract analysis software."
What I'm betting on:
UGC over ads. Let creators share their own "KLATE saved me $80K" stories. That's more powerful than any ad we could run.
Education over selling. Become the go-to person for contract advice. Then when they get a deal, they remember the tool exists.
Community over paid acquisition. Our 500-person waitlist will evangelize if we give them real value.
Platform partnerships over direct marketing. Integrate where creators already are (DistroKid, BeatStars, etc.).
The reality:
You can't growth hack a market that doesn't know it has a problem yet.
You have to educate first. Build trust. Show real saves.
Then sell.
If you've built B2C tools for creative markets and actually got creators to pay for them, I'd love to hear what worked.
Drop a comment or DM me. I'm all ears.
