A new era of "baseball baptisms"?
Caveat lector: These are just some shower thoughts from me.
It seems to me that the Church is trying to attract more converts through social media, with even reports of paying influencers ( https://www.reddit.com/r/mormon/comments/1llz669/thoughts_on_influencers_being_paid_to_push_the/ ). If the recent claims about growth in the number of converts are to be believed, it might have some success. But social media is also infamous for being able to make things look way better than they are. Do you think that this will only hurt the retention rate? Are we, so to say, about to enter into a new era of the "baseball baptisms", where people are quickly baptised without really knowing much about the church, and then quickly going inactive?
