A potential reality of bots on Reddit [Journal]

I just had this thought. How might a negative entity deal with all these people on social media giving positive advice and energy?

Maybe you make a bunch of bots ("AI") that engage with these comments (views, likes, replies), so the commenter believes they are reaching more people than they actually are. This creates a scenario where the positive person is unknowingly speaking "into the void" and not actually having a positive effect on others

This idea illustrates the staying power of communicating and acting in person ("IRL"), rather than solely communicating online

Then again, if just one person does see a positive comment online and it has a positive effect on them, then the act of commenting is indeed worth it. And if nothing else, the commenter themself is surely having a positive experience, which is never a bad thing

so tl;dr for myself. Ignore the "analytics" and the numbers because most of it is probably "fake" anyways ('bots"). Instead just assume at least one real person is seeing the content and thus being given an opportunity to match a positive vibe, and that is a good thing
