Tie-in media and my strange fixation on it

Hi folks! Long time reader here with a strange sort of situation. I LOVE tie-in novels. When I find out a property has novels, I get interested in that property. Warhammer, Battletech, Alien, D&D, Star Trek, Star Wars Legends, 2000 AD, even Vampirella and Hellboy. I read two books at a time typically, one in print/Kindle and one on audio. I’m reading a Battletech novel in print right now and cannot seem to get myself to listen to my audiobook (Dogs of War by Adrian Tchaikovsky) because it isn’t set in one of the worlds I love. I want to listen to a Warhammer novel and read the Battletech novel. Am I losing it? Is that a bad idea? Is my taste just shit?
