Do you think most submissives are actually pretty type a / alpha in real life?

I only recently got into dom/sub dynamics, but in my brief experience, all the really sexually submissive guys I’ve hooked up with (granted, a small sample) are very high-achieving and dominant outside the bedroom. Several have been attorneys, two were business owners, one is an outspoken professor. I’ve met them all on apps or at sex parties.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s just because we’re in NYC and a higher than average percentage of gays are type A achievers, so my experience is skewed. Or if these kinds of men in general are more into submissive fantasies as an antidote to having to be dominant everywhere else.
