Qs on eKVM operation (Lenovo Thinkvision P40WD-40)

Just got the P40WD-40, and still trying to figure out all the settings.

Got some Q on the eKVM function - does switching from one source and 2nd source disconnect the first source?

My current setup: desktop (PC1) with DP1.4, USB-AB to monitor, laptop (PC2) with TB3 connection to monitor. USB drive connected to rear USB port, webcam connected to top USB, ETH connected to PC1.

Scenarios:

1. Lets say I have USB drive plugged in to monitor, and I am backing up files from PC1 internal drive to external USB drive, will switching to PC2 interrupt the process? Can I prevent some USBs from switching between 2 computers?

2. The PC1 has a ethernet connection, and is connected to internet thru it, does switching to PC2 provide the network connection thru monitor? Does iot disconnect PC1 from internet? If I am downloading files on PC1, will switching to PC2 stop the download? Can the ethernet be prevented from switching? PC2 can use wifi as needed.
