No one wants to meet up in person anymore, I am getting lonely.
My friend group (F all early 30) hardly ever want to meet up in-person anymore. No one has kids. We have been friends for 15 years.
I get that people are busy and tired from work and other family commitments (I have stuff I have to do too). Unfortunately we live at different ends of the city so it is about 1 hours travel time for everyone to meet up.
When ever I suggest an even to go to I always get "let do virtual game night instead". And while that is fun it is not really helping me socially anymore. I am going months without much social interaction at all (not including check out person in the supermarket and limited interaction with co-workers at my office job).
I am starting to get board and lonely...
I don't know how to encourage them to try to meet up and do activities/events more often.
Just "make new Friends", you say - Finding it hard to start over again. If I go to an event or activity alone, most others come with friends so I am awkwardly budding in their friend group. And chatting with strangers I will never see again, not really giving me the connection I am looking for...
