Suit recommendations

Any general tips would be good but maybe aimed towards southwest. I've heard a very dark blue is good because you don't want to wear black and look like a funeral. Any specific cut I should ask for or whatever? Cheap would be good just want it to look nice. What about the tie I've heard dress how they dress but I feel like showing up with an american flag tie is too much so maybe a safer option would be good lol
