What happens if you get a D in a major elective?

I'm a computer science BA and I just need one more elective to finish the major. I was wondering if anyone knows what happens when you get a D in a major elective. Would that still count towards completing the major, as long as I have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in the major core requirements? Do I need to worry at all about getting a D in this class?
