Terrified of Incomplete Miscarriage Treatment
Hello everyone! I went into the doctor at 9 weeks due to some bleeding. They did an ultrasound and said looked like my baby stopped growing at 7 weeks and I was going to have a miscarriage. 4 days later I was in the hospital bleeding a lot and in the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I have a history of severe periods and this was worse pain than that. The most severe frightening pain lasted for about 2 hours, but that whole process that day lasted for about 6 hours. After that, I continued to bleed over the next two weeks, but the bleeding got less and less, but never stopped. My OB then scheduled an ultrasound to make sure everything passed (this was done two weeks after I was in the hospital as previously described) and they found it looked like some tissue, most likely placenta is still in my uterus. Now I have an appointment with myOB today I imagine to discuss what to do about this. I’m terrified of going through that pain again if she prescribes the medication. Or she may give me the option of a D&C but is that any less painful? And does it put me at risk of infertility in the future? Anyone have a similar experience and fear and how did you get through it?
