What would you do?

So up until they started having these extra legroom seats, on all my flights as A-list preferred and boarding pretty early on I would choose a seat by a window around row 8 where I always felt the least amount of turbulence and I always felt more comfortable being able to look out the window.

Now with these new choose your own seats, twice I forgot to pick until all I had available were middle seats with the extra leg room or regular seats by the window. I’m trying to decide which is better. I think the ELR seats get group 1 and I do like to be able to fit my bad directly over me and have had some issues when I don’t board first. Any thoughts?
